Who we are

Hipolito Medrano Gil

Director of Bodega Nacra. Originally from La Rioja, based in Mallorca and Professor of Plant Physiology at the UIB, he developed his research activity on the physiological drought resistance in vines, improving the efficiency of water use as well as on the recovery of native varieties. Currently an emeritus professor, he decided to address the application of university experience to the reality of cultivation and consequently, he planted these vines on his wife’s land (Magdalena Llabrés, a native of Inca), seeking the best expression of these varieties in single-varietal and vintage wines. A risky but exciting project that become an environmentally sustainable vineyard.
